David Cotton joined True Mountain Capital in May 2024 and serves in both business development and client support capacities. He helps introduce prospective project sponsors to the New Markets Tax Credit program, identifying and advancing projects sourced through the firm’s Summit platform and facilitating an efficient entry point into the transaction process.
In his support role, David works closely with sponsors to develop marketing materials that articulate each project’s community impact and readiness. These materials form the foundation of outreach to Community Development Entities and NMTC investors, where David also assists in evaluating alignment between project needs and each CDE’s focus areas, geographic priorities, and allocation capacity. As projects transition from marketing into the closing process, he supports the coordination of transaction-related due diligence by working with sponsors and third-party providers such as land surveyors and environmental engineers, helping ensure that comprehensive documentation is assembled to allow the transaction to proceed as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
Through these efforts, David enables the advisory team to concentrate on leading transactions with precision on behalf of project sponsors. His contributions reflect True Mountain Capital’s commitment to advancing meaningful community projects with clarity, professionalism, and care.
